Gostaresh Foulad of Tabriz and Esteghlal of Tehran lined up against each other in Tabriz, on Thursday, to open the 2nd day of the 26’s week of 2016-17 season of the Persian Gulf Premier League of Iran’s Professional Football.
It was not a day for the blue giants of Tehran and after conceding to a goal in the minute 74 by Alireza Naghizadeh, the visitors were on the verge of a defeat. Six minutes later Omid Ebrahimi scored the equalizer for the blues to let them escape an away loss. Finally the two teams left the pitch with a 1-1 result.
The result offered an opportunity to the other club of Tabriz, Tractorsazi, to regain the second place of the table if they win their fixture of Friday.
In Isfahan, Zowbahan and Naft of Abadan played the second fixture of the day and while the hosts scored the opener at the minute 53 but 12 minutes later conceded to a goal and the same result of 1-1 was registerd in Isfahan too.
